Mentoring is a relationship in which a more experienced or more knowledgeable person helps to guide a less experienced or less knowledgeable person.

Mentoring in regard to the NDIS, is when a Mentor assists, guides, educates and enables parents, carers, and others through the NDIS process.

Mentoring within their NDIS Journey will encompass the Mentor being a sounding board, a listener, a voice of reason, a trusted resource, empathetic, a problem solver, a person to offer a new perspective to the environment / circumstances the client is in.

Within the Disability area a Mentor is also required to have a vast knowledge on the various types of disabilities that affect people and the resources available within the community.
