Where an assistance animal meets all of the reasonable and necessary criteria, the NDIA will generally fund supports related to the ongoing maintenance of the assistance animal.

This may include costs related to:

  • food
  • grooming
  • flea and worm treatments
  • medication
  • vaccinations
  • veterinary services.
