These support items allow participants to engage a Plan Manager to manage and monitor budgets over the course of the plan, manage NDIS claims and pay providers for delivered service, maintain records and produce regular (at least monthly) statements showing the financial position of the plan. Plan managers provide participants access to a wider range of service providers, including non-registered providers, but are subject to the price limits set out in this Price Guide.

This support item assists a participant to build their capacity to undertake all aspects of plan administration and management, including engaging providers, developing service agreements, maintaining records, paying providers, and claiming payments from the NDIA. It focusses on building their financial and organisational skills and enhancing their ability to direct their supports. Providers of these supports are expected to assist participants to develop their skills for self-management, where this is possible.
